Types of Lessons Offered
We offer lessons for Guitar (all styles), Ukulele, Bass Guitar
Students can sign up for weekly lessons lasting 30 minutes or 60 minutes.
Lesson Format
In-person lessons are held in the studios at Mojo's Music, located at 144 N Main Street, Edwardsville, IL 62025.
Virtual lessons are held using an online platform mutually convenient to the student and instructor.
Monthly Subscription Rates
Lessons are billed at a flat monthly rate:
30-minute weekly lessons: $109 per month for most teachers. Additional students from one family will be charged $99/month.
60-minute weekly lessons: $218 per month
Students beginning lessons midway through a calendar month will have their first month's tuition prorated according to how many weeks are left in the month.
Referral Bonus: Recommend Mojo's Music to someone and if they sign up for lessons and mention your name, you will get a $10 Mojo's Gift Card.
Payment
Customers signed up for a monthly lessons subscription are required to be on monthly autopay. Credit/Debit cards are drafted for autopay on the 1st of every month. A credit or debit card on file is required. If this is problematic, please contact Tom or Jamie and we can discuss other options.
Students who wish to use a different payment method (cash, check, or card other than the one on file) must make their lesson payment in advance prior to the first of the month.
Student Cancellations
Please notify your instructor as far in advance as possible if you need to miss a lesson. Our instructors organize their schedules in order to be available at the student's reserved weekly time; it is the student's responsibility to attend all scheduled lessons. No refund or lesson credit will be issued for lessons “no call/no show.”. If a lesson is canceled at least 6 hours before start time, a makeup credit will be issued. Makeup credits expire in 30 days. It is our intent to ensure all students are consistently making progress on their instruments. Regular attendance is one way to ensure this.
Lateness: If a student is more than 10 minutes late for a lesson, the instructor is not obligated to wait, and the student will be marked as absent.
Instructor Cancellations
In the event an instructor needs to cancel a lesson, they are required to schedule a makeup lesson.
Sickness & Inclement Weather
The safety of our students, instructors, and staff is extremely important to us. If meeting for an in-person lesson would create unnecessary risk, we strongly recommend holding the lesson virtually instead.
Examples of situations that might create unnecessary risk:
- Snow or ice on the roads
- Tornado warning in effect
- Someone in the student's or instructor's family is exhibiting symptoms of the flu or Covid-19
- Either the student or instructor has been in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19
If either the student or instructor is not feeling well enough for a lesson regardless of format, our policies for student/instructor cancellations apply.
Holidays
As a rule, Mojo’s Music will be open and conducting lessons with the following exceptions: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve.
Discontinuing Lessons
Any student who wishes to cancel their monthly subscription must send written notice to info@mojosmusic.com before 11:59pm on the last day of the month. If a student would like to specify an end date for lessons other than the end of the month, they are eligible to receive prorated tuition for their last month of lessons, calculated based on the number of expected lessons. No refund or lesson credit will be issued for payment already received. Any pending makeup lessons will be forfeited upon discontinuation of lessons.
Trial Lessons
Not ready to commit to a monthly subscription? You may attend a single lesson free of charge (based on teacher availability).
